As a former teacher in a public school district for five years together, I made a few observations:

o On an average day in class each student receives ten to fifteen minutes of individual, one-on-one with their teachers. The rest of the day was devoted to teaching a group of 25 to 30 students, the transition from one activity to another class of disorder, recesses, lunch and crowd control.
Classes o mixed with 10% high and low achievers 10% with the majority of students are somewhere in the middle. A gifted child can read 200 books per year, while the slow kid can not make it through it.
Classrooms O moves the slowest student. Often, advanced students relieve the boredom and slow learners out because they can not keep.
